It was attended by the head of the bank's representative office in Uzbekistan, Kanokpan Lao Araya, and other officials. On the Uzbek side, the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Ilhom Norkulov, Deputy Ministers Ilhomjon Umrzakov and Umid Abidkhadjayev, Advisor to the Minister, Jasur Karshibayev, as well as the CEO of the Mortgage Refinancing Company, Murodjon Farmanov, and relevant officials.
At the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Mortgage Refinancing Company and the bank to further develop cooperation with the Asian Development Bank.
During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and new stages of cooperation between Uzbekistan and ADB. In particular, they exchanged views on the adoption of a strategy for the development of small and medium-sized businesses and joint initiatives in this regard.
ADB representatives also highly appreciated the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan and shared plans to expand the portfolio of projects in areas such as state budget support, education, energy, transport, water supply, and urban development.
In addition, technical assistance in working on urban master plans in some regions, new initiatives for ecological transformation and sustainable development, as well as wastewater and educational institution projects implemented through public-private partnerships, were discussed.
The issue of introducing a "super ESCO" system to increase energy efficiency was also on the agenda.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify existing cooperation, support new projects, and strengthen ties within the framework of technical assistance.
