The delegation of Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov, participated in a special meeting at the World Economic Forum in Saudi Arabia, dedicated to the theme of global cooperation for development, growth, and energy, as well as in an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). The meeting was attended by leaders of many enterprises and international organizations, states, and governments, discussing prospects for international cooperation.
The IsDB meeting was conducted by Saudi Arabia's Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan and IsDB Group President Mohammed Al-Jassir. The agenda included issues of accelerating support for the economic growth of IsDB member countries, development of the private sector, implementation of digital technologies, and mitigation of the effects of climate change through a "green" economy.
The meeting emphasized the importance of the Islamic Development Bank's initiatives to support developing member countries by helping them overcome economic difficulties and aiding in the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
It was noted that with the bank’s support, major investment projects have been implemented aimed at improving healthcare, education, drinking water supply, and the development of agriculture and water management.
During the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan held effective bilateral meetings with finance ministers from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Turkey, and Indonesia, during which the economic reforms and the "Uzbekistan – 2030" development strategy were recognized by the international community.
